Hours: shift work 8 hours – zero-hour contract
Reports to: Production Supervisor / Line Manager
Job Purpose:
To support the day-to-day operations of the food production facility by performing a variety of tasks to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with food production processes, including preparation, assembly, and packaging of products.
Operate production equipment and machinery safely, following all operational guidelines.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in line with company policies and regulatory requirements (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
Monitor product quality and report any inconsistencies or defects to supervisors.
Assist with stock handling, storage, and rotation according to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
Support the team in meeting production targets and deadlines.
Follow all Health & Safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Production Supervisor.
Person Specification / Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a food production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment is desirable but not essential.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
Physically fit, able to stand for long periods, and handle moderate lifting tasks.
Flexible approach to working hours, including shifts if required.
