Reports to: Production Supervisor / Quality & Hygiene Manager
Job Purpose
To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the food production facility, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. The role is essential to safeguarding product quality and ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, work surfaces, and floors according to established schedules and procedures.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for hygiene and cleaning tasks.
- Dispose of waste and contaminated materials safely, following environmental and safety regulations.
- Assist with line sanitation before, during, and after production runs.
- Monitor hygiene standards across the production areas and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate cleaning records as required by food safety and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP).
- Comply with all Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Support the Quality and Production teams as required to maintain consistent product quality
Skills & Requirements
- Experience in food production or food hygiene roles preferred but not essential (full training provided).
- Knowledge of food hygiene, cleaning procedures, and sanitation standards desirable.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts (early, late, or weekends if required).
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Physical fitness: role may involve standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and working in cold/ambient production areas.
